In reading we have been learning how text features help us to understand the information in non-fiction text. Close reading is strategy we practice that reminds us to go back, reread, and look for the main topic and the details.

Our Maps Unit

Our First Full Week of School
We have been getting adjusted to our new schedule and routine. This week we have been busy learning and getting to know each other. Check out some of the things we've been doing:
We set goals for home, school, and our lives.
We are learning that where a digit is placed determines the number's value.
And, we are making flip books to help us study our landforms.
We wrote paragraphs about ourselves. We wrote about the things that make us proud and our talents.

Two Mrs. Garrisons! :)
Did you know that my 4th grade teacher was Mrs. Garrison? She was my favorite teacher! Mrs. Garrison read lots of books to us, and I will read some of the same ones to you! I can't wait to meet you at the Long School Ice Cream Social/Meet the Teacher Night on August 13 at 7:00pm.
